CO-CHAIR OF VETERANS FOR HARRIS-WALZ COALITION, PENNSYLVANIA,
EX-REPUBLICAN
Speaking on Women Veterans and Sexual Violence
Lindsey Scott is a Meadville native and resident who fights for the common men and women — both in her volunteer capacity as Chair of the Crawford County Democratic Committee, and in her paid role as a Program Specialist at the Arc of Crawford County, a social service organization that promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As a disabled combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Ms. Scott now serves as the Co-Chair to the Veterans for Harris-Walz Coalition, in addition to being the Secretary of the Veterans and Rural Caucuses for the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. Ms. Scott uses her life experience having disabilities, and her career defending people with disabilities, to relentlessly advocate for the people – both inside, and outside the political system.
Once a self-described “John McCain Republican,” she now uses her Movement-style Theory of Politics to defeat MAGA ‘Trumpist’ Republicans at the ballot box. Ms. Scott’s eclectic educational background comes in the form of Intelligence Studies from Mercyhurst (University), as well as certifications in Digital, Data and Field Organizing, combined with trauma therapy specialties such as Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Crisis Intervention. Using her programmatic expertise in Social Security, Veterans Benefits, and Medicare/Medicaid, she seeks to secure changes to systems through the election of candidates who support safety and security of all people.
Lindsey (Helfrey) Scott also holds the following positions:
Chair of Crawford County Democratic Committee
Secretary of Rural and Veterans Caucuses, Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee
Program Specialist, The Arc of Crawford County
